The Friends of the Islamorada Area State Parks support the parks by providing funding for various projects throughout the parks. See below for our current fundraising projects.
District Biologist Janice Duquesnel is hanging up her wetsuit after 30 years with the Florida Park Service! During her tenure she worked on a multitude of projects including pioneering the seagrass restoration program in Lignumvitae Key. To continue her efforts to preserve and protect this important ecosystem, the Friends of the Islamorada Area State Parks,is creating the Janice Duquesnel Seagrass Restoration Fund.
Every year, seagrass habitats are damaged by careless boating, threatening marine life and the ecosystem. Your support through the Janice Duquesnel Seagrass Restoration Fund directly funds ongoing restoration efforts that have been underway in the park since 2005. Donate today to help restore and protect the vital seagrass meadows in Lignumvitae Key Botanical State Park.
